The Subcommittee on Federal Workforce, Postal Service and the District of Columbia will hold a hearing under the title, “The Cost and Benefits of the Reemployment of Federal Part-time Annuitants.”
The hearing will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at 2:00 p.m., in room 2247 of the Rayburn House Office Building and will examine the impact that reemploying Federal Part-time Annuitants has on annuitants finances and current Federal employees.

The Subcommittee on Federal Workforce, Postal Service and the District of Columbia will hold a hearing entitled “The Economics of Universal Mail Post PAEA.” The hearing will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2008, at 2:00p.m. in room 2154 of the Rayburn House Office Building.
The hearing will examine the degree to which the Postal Service has taken advantage of the specific provisions to the Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act (PAEA) to enhance its economic situation in the future.

The Subcommittee on Federal Workforce, Postal Service and the District of Columbia will hold two hearings, under the title, “Catching Up: Benefits That Will Help Recruit and Retain Federal Employees,” on Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. in room 2154 of the Rayburn House Office Building.
Panel one will discuss improvements to the Federal Employee Thrift Savings Plan (automatic enrollment and default to the Life Cycle Fund) and the second panel will examine providing health insurance to young adults enrolled as dependents in the Federal Employee Health Benefits Program (FEHBP).
Immediately following the hearing, the Subcommittee will markup:
H.R. 5550, a bill “To amend title 5, U.S.C, to increase the maximum age to qualify for coverage as a ’child’ under the health benefits program for Federal Employees.” Chairman Davis may offer an amendment to H.R. 5550, which he introduced on March 6, 2008.
H.R. _______, which may be introduced by Chairman Henry Waxman regarding the
mailing of tobacco through the U.S. postal system.

The House Subcommittee on Federal Workforce, Postal Service and the District of Columbia will hold a hearing entitled “Eliminating Smoke and Mirrors in the Mail.” The hearing will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2008, at 2:00 p.m., in room 2154 of the Rayburn House Office Building.
The hearing will examine Postal Cooperative Mail and Postal “nonmailable tobacco.”
The House Subcommittee on Federal Workforce, Postal Service and the District of Columbia will hold a hearing examining H.R. 1296, the “District of Columbia District Attorney Establishment Act.”
The hearing will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2008, at 10:00 a.m., in room 2154 of the Rayburn House Office Building.
